Bergamot and mandarin give the opening a brief citrus clarity before aldehydes arrive with a clean, slightly soapy shimmer that was very much of its era. The heart is where L'Initial commits: iris and rose form the core, with jasmine and ylang-ylang adding warmth without ever tipping into sweetness. Sandalwood and vetiver hold the base together alongside vanilla and amber, and the result is a drydown that is smooth, lightly sweet, and longer-lasting than the soft opening suggests.

Suggested Use

L'Initial wears best in cooler months, when the powdery iris and vanilla base reads as cozy rather than stifling. It is a reasonable candidate for layering under an unscented moisturizer to extend the drydown through a full evening. Avoid heavy application in summer heat, as the aldehydes and powder can read as dense.
